OUR
CONFEDERATE MONUMENT
ERRECTED BY THE SHREVEPORT CHAPTER #237
OF THE UNITED DAUGHTERS OF THE CONFEDERACY
OF THE UNITED DAUGHTERS OF THE CONFEDERACY
1922 Postcard of our Shreveport Chapter Confederate monument looking east toward Marshall Street as it stood in front of the Caddo Parish Courthouse from 1906 - 2022.
Note the circular landscaped area surrounded by walkway, wrought iron fence and benches. The circular area was changed to a square when the new existing courthouse was built in 1938
Donate to help us improve our new monument site. We plan on adding a sidewalk around the monument, a decorative steel fence, and security cameras. We also will do periodic maintenance. Your help is greatly appreciated. THANK YOU!
